School Closure 20.3.20
Posted on: 18/03/2020Dear Parents and Carers
Coronavirus – School closure
The government has tonight announced that from the end of the day on Friday 20th March, all schools will be closed until further notice.
The exception to this is for children of key workers and those who are classed as vulnerable. At the time of writing it is not clear which children this will include, and we await further guidance.
The government also stated that SATs will be cancelled this year.
The school will spend Thursday and Friday preparing an appropriate action plan so that we can fulfil the government’s wishes to open on Monday for vulnerable children and those of key workers. In the meantime, we expect students in years 1 to 6 to attend school as normal for the remainder of the week, providing they are not showing coronavirus symptoms or are in a household with someone showing coronavirus symptoms.
We will be in touch on Thursday 19th March to identify those students who fit into the published categories, and to provide further information as it becomes available.
I am sure you will appreciate that this a very turbulent time for schools and we are doing everything we can to comply with the government’s requests.
Yours sincerely
Nicola Matheson
Head of School
