Year 3 Reading Spine
We have carefully selected these books which we will read with Year 3 over the course of the year. The books link with our wider curriculum learning, expose children to fantastic writing and represent the many cultures in our community. Click on the image below for further details:
Year 3 Knowledge Organisers
Our knowledge organisers give a detailed summary of what your child is learning in history, geography and science. They are a very useful tool to help you ask your child about what they have learnt in school.

Weekly Homework
Reading
In Year 3, we are passionate about reading and expect children to read at home every night. Each time they read, their online reading diary needs to be updated and uploaded by an adult at home.
Spellings
Click Spell-It-Out-Y3-wk-23-2.docx for the words we are currently focusing on in our spelling lessons in class. You can really help your child by help them to practise their spellings at home and by encouraging them to use the words when you talk to them.
Maths
Throughout the year we will focus on different maths facts. Once they become automatic for children it will allow them to quickly recall the facts when completing more complex maths equations.
We are currently focusing on our 4 times tables and our 8 times tables.
Please encourage your child to practise at home as well!
Weekly Homework
Every Friday, your child will have some maths, reading or SPaG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar) homework. This will be due in the following Tuesday. It is now sent out via Teams. Your child has been given their log in details. Any questions, please ask your Class Teacher.
