Birthday Treats

BIRTHDAY TREATS

Due to a notable increase in severe allergies among our pupils and with a commitment to promoting healthy eating habits, no food items to be brought into the school to be handed out to other children.

We understand the importance of making birthdays special for our pupils, and to ensure that each child feels celebrated on their special day.  After parent consultation in October 2023, it has been decided that birthdays can be celebrated in the following ways:

1. Non-uniform Day: On their birthday, children are invited to wear their own clothes to school.
NB: If your child’s birthday is on a weekend, PE day, school trip, an existing non-uniform day or in a school holiday, your child can wear non-uniform on another day close to their birthday e.g. the day before or after a weekend / school holiday.

2. Birthday Sing-Along: To make the day even more special, we will sing "Happy Birthday" to the birthday child. This will be done either in their class or during an assembly.  We will then hand out a special sticker for the birthday child.

3. Non-Food Items: If your child wishes to, they may bring in a non-food item, such as a pencil, to give out. Please note, there is no obligation to do so.
