On Friday 10^th January, Year 4 had a full day workshop learning about Ancient Egypt. Mr Egypt (Philip Harris), an Egyptologist who lives in Egypt exploring the tombs and pyramids, provided an outstanding workshop. The children learned about daily life for Egyptians, pharaohs, Egyptian food, the importance of death in their society and they even took part in some mummification! The most fascinating part of the day was when the children could hold and investigate real artefacts which Mr Egypt had brought from the tombs of Egyptian Pharaohs. It really brought their learning to life and it has been a great introduction to their topic on life in Ancient Egypt.
