Computing
Intent
We aim to enable children to find, explore, analyse, exchange and present information. We focus on developing the skills necessary for children to be able to use information in a safe and effective way. Computing skills are a major factor in enabling children to be confident, creative and independent learners and communicators, our curriculum enables our children to achieve this. It is now more important than ever that children understand how to use technology positively, responsibly and safely, and that they see good models of this.
We have a computing curriculum that develops pupil’s learning and results in the acquisition of knowledge of the world around them. This helps pupils to understand and apply the fundamental principles and concepts of computer science and gain practical experience of writing computer programs in order to problem solve.
Our curriculum prepares pupils to contribute positively to an increasingly digital society, enabling them to become respectful, responsible, competent, confident and creative users of information technology.
